Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Since we moved, we now have cable and with that the Disney channel. So, Jonah has a new favorite show that he watches every morning and is fascinated with. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He has recreated the clubhouse out of legos and acts out various parts of the show.
Pretty good with no help from anyone. He also builds Wall-e, Mr. Incredible, and Sponge Bob.

Bekah's Room

BEFORE.......
AFTER.....

THE BIG REVEAL......
This was a lot of fun, Bekah chose the color. We have added some details not in the picture that I'll have to add later. We want different curtains, these were quick curtains we hung because there was nothing on the windows. Now I'm working on the Boys' room which I will post later.

Jonah's First Day of Kindergarten

Jonah started school on August 15. He started later that Bekah because they had to do a kindergarten assessment. It was ok, I don't think I would have made it having to worry about both of them going to new schools on the same day. Jonah also gets to ride the bus.
The new lunch box, very exciting!
Sam had to hold his lunch box too and pretend he was going to school. All day he asked, "where's Jonah?". I guess they do like each other after all!

Bekah's First Day of School

Bekah started school on August 13! She is in Middle School now and is bussed to school, lucky me!

Zoo Train

Sam is sitting with me at the computer and wanted to see the zoo train again. He LOVES trains! Here at our new zoo they have this train. We've ridden it twice now. He calls it James from Thomas and Friends. Oh yeah and he's still wearing his Thomas the train shirt (going on 3 weeks now) it's looking a little worn. I'll have to go shopping for some new ones!

Cousins

Cousin Emily came to visit with her new baby sister, Kaitlin. We had a short, but good visit from their family.
Just try to get that baby away from Bekah!
We went to the zoo together and had a great time. The weather was perfect!
Here is Sam, making sure we know where that baby's nose is!

More Aquarium Friends

We watched them feed the beavers, what healthy eaters they are! In the same room they also were feeding the otters goldfish. They were hilarious as they played with their food! These racoons were so energetic!
And of course the Nemo cast of characters that my kids love, Bubbles,
Dory,
and of course Nemo.

The Aquarium

They have a really cool aquarium here that we visited when my parents were here. There was so much to see, but the favorite thing was the ray tank. Everyone was fascinated with these creatures. You could feed the rays shrimp on a plastic stick. As soon as Jonah saw that, he had to try it. He laughed so hard when the rays would pop up and bite off the shrimp!
I guess these rays just eat all day, because there were tons of people feeding them the whole time we were there. What a life!

What a Mother Wants to Hear!!

Bekah had her first day of Middle School today. She got off the bus and ran up to the house (getting a hug from Jonah on the way), and said with a huge smile, "That was Awesome!". I was so relieved that she had a good day!

No More Diapers!!!

Sam's got it! He is pretty much potty trained, I'm so excited! It has taken just two weeks. He now tells me when he has to go #1 or #2. A very exciting accomplishment. He was my easiest child to train. We didn't even read those horrible potty books we have, now they are trash for sure (especially the one that flushes!).

Sam and Thomas?

Here is a cute picture of the boys catching frogs. Sam is wearing a Thomas the Train shirt here, his very favorite. He has been wearing it now everyday for the past week and a half. He asks for it first thing in the morning and has to put it on right away. He is totally obsessed with his Thomas shirt, it has all his favorite engines on it. I have to do my laundry at night so I can get it washed between wearings!

Sam is also potty training. I really don't like to talk about potty training, but he is doing really well. Everytime he goes he gets a tootsie roll (and he won't let you forget it either!). The other kids have all helped him to learn. It's so cute to watch Jonah teaching Sam what to do! Sam will tell me now when he has to go, usually in an emergency state! We are still working on #2, but I feel optimistic that he will get it soon! We went to Target yesterday for school supplies and he got to pick out some new underpants for doing so well. Of course he chose the Thomas the Train ones!

Rain

It downpoured two days our first week here which I guess is pretty unusual for this time of year here. There was sooo much water. This is the drainage ditch a couple of houses down. The kids had fun playing in the water though! I wish it would rain some more now, the grass could use it!

Froggin'

This is the pond behind our house. We LOVE seeing this pond from our Family room. There is also a field of grass that they mowed down two weeks after we got here. The boys loved watching the tractor as it cut, raked, and baled the hay. The farmer would wave at the boys as he passed by on the tractor!
Here we are hard at work, catching those slippery little baby frogs. Bekah is the best frogger and can catch them with her bare hands! The rest of us use nets. There are so many baby frogs. We are on a strictly catch and release program here. We have also caught a few tadpoles, but I made them release them too. I need to do some more research so we can find out how to take care of them so we can catch one and watch it grow.
It took Jonah a lot of practice to catch one on his own, but he is a determined boy and finally did it!
Here is one of the big ones. There are several different kinds including bullfrogs. These boys make a lot of noise at night! Jonah loves to scare these and watch as they let out a sqeal, jump into the water, and swim away, he laughs sooo hard!
