Christmas Pajamas

This is one of those moments that happened exactly as I pictured it when I was in the store buying the pajamas. I was inspired to buy matching pajamas for the kids. I have never done this before, not even with clothes (Alan is not into the kids all matching thing). I wanted a picture of them on the couch, everyone happy and smiling. We had a really great Christmas morning, peaceful and relaxing. Oh yeah, Bekah got glasses the day before Christmas Eve. Doesn't she look good! Not to mention that she can see now.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! We are all excited at our house, Christmas is almost here! I've been cleaning and making food all day, not to mention wrapping some presents here and there.

Christmas Treats

We make these treats every year because they are easy and the kids can make them. They are also the best treats! Everyone loves them. Sam finally had to be banished to his highchair while we were making them because he wouldn't stop trying to get the chocolate! Jonah loved squishing the m&ms onto the soft chocolate. Lots of family fun!

Bekah's Concert

Bekah just started playing the cello this year in school and had her first concert last night. The school is really close to us and it was nice out so we thought we'd walk. We got ready to go and stepped outside and found it was sprinkling. We then loaded everyone into the van and guess what, it wouldn't start (a perpetual problem this year, anyone know a good mechanic?). Then we loaded everyone into the car(we barely fit into the prizm). Anyway, we finally got to school and the concert was really good.

Rudolf the Reindeer Red Nose

I was teaching Jonah to sing Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. Later that day this is what I hear him singing, "Rudolf the Reindeer Red Nose". Pretty cute.

And while the other kids are reading, Sam has discovered that the bathroom sink is a very fun place to play! He climbs onto the toilet and then it's an easy step on to the counter and right into the sink.
Jonah has no patience for me to read to him at night. He will only sit still for Bekah to read to him. He just plays under his blanket when I try to read to him. Hopefully this is just a phase and he will let me read to him again. I guess it doesn't matter who reads to him. Bekah loves to read and does such a good job of engaging Jonah and asking him questions, it's very sweet.

Alan's new tool that saved us a trip to the emergency room! I like these new skills of his!

A Relaxing Sunday

Just as we were about to leave church, the kids were goofing around with the window in the primary room and Jonah got his thumb crushed in the window. Of course he screamed. The fluid and blood were building up under his nail and Alan wanted to use his newly aquired medical skills to puncture and drain the fluid. I didn't want to hold Jonah so I made him call a classmate to help. They could not get the paper clip hot enough to go through the nail with the regular grill lighter. Yes, I said a paper clip(advanced medical tools here). So they had to go get a micro torch at the hardware store and try again. The pressure built up was enough to squirt a little bit of blood several inches across the paper towel on the kitchen table. The nail was completely a deep shade of purple and now it is a normal color again, there's just a hole in it!

This is my first attempt at posting a picture, hope it works. This is my attempt at getting a picture of all the kids at once. It is never an easy task. They all had fun playing in the leaves though.

The Beginning

I'm exhausted with trying to come up with a name for my blog! That was so hard. Hopefully I'll get the hang of this soon. I can't wait to learn to post pictures, one step at a time I guess.
